How is the meeting cost calculated?
Each attendee's annual salary is converted to an hourly rate (salary ÷ 2,080 working hours a year), multiplied by the meeting's length, and summed across everyone attending. If the meeting recurs, that per-meeting cost is multiplied out across the year.
What salary should I use?
A rough average across attendees is fine — the point is the order of magnitude, not precision. You can use fully-loaded cost (salary plus benefits and overhead, often 1.25–1.4× base) for a more complete figure.
Why does this matter?
Seeing the annual cost of a recurring meeting makes trade-offs concrete. Often the answer is a shorter meeting, fewer attendees, or an async update — and better scheduling so the time you do spend is the right time for everyone.
